When this wonderful child was born two thousand years ago, Joseph was told to name him Jehoshua, which, shortened to its colloquial form, is Jeshua. Friends, family, and Disciples all knew him as Jeshua. The name Jeshua has been subsequently translated into every language known to man. In the English language we call him Jesus, but of course that wasn't until the sixteenth century when the hard 'J' was first added to the English alphabet. Before that it was a softer sound that came from the Greek word, Iesous. Beyond all the different linguistic traditions, there is, however, a universal name which is more precious than all the rest. As a result of our personal conversations, I was granted the higher awareness and privilege of knowing this holy name which is simply, "The Beloved."
